Because of the weather, the vernissage ‒ which had begun next to the work in the sculpture park ‒ had to be moved at short notice into the Selbständige Evangelisch-Lutherische Kirche SELK , which was kindly made available by Pastor Klaus Pahlen

After relocating into the dry interior of the Selbständige Evangelisch-Lutherischen Kirche SELK:

After the welcoming by KaM, the mayor of the city of Essen, Franz-Josef Britz, and the head of the culture and educations department, Muchtar Al Ghusain, addressed the participants. This was followed by Dr Anna Fricke, curator for contemporary art at the Museum Folkwang, who provided an introduction to the artist and her work.

Afterwards, there was an opportunity to gather in the parish hall, where, among other things, catalogs of the artist and posters of the vernissage were on display.

Artist talk on 6 July 2019

During the Skulpturenfest / sculptures fest 2019 of the association Kunst am Moltkeplatz KaM e.V. on 6 July 2019 the artist Phung-Tien Phan and the curator Dr Anna Fricke had a public artist talk, sharing with the visitors their ideas, thoughts and backgrounds on the temporary work Bankett Gruppe 2 / Banquet Group 2 ‒ and other works by the artist.

Finissage on 17 November 2019 in the parish hall of the SELK church

The temporary work Bankett Gruppe 2 / Banquet Group 2 by Phung-Tien Phan had been on display in the sculpture park Moltkeplatz for a year. Before it was to be dismantled at the end of November 2019 as agreed, the association Kunst am Moltkeplatz KaM e.V. sent out an invitation to say goodbye. More than thirty interested persons gathered in the parish hall of the SELK church and had the opportunity to talk with the artist Phung-Tien Phan and the curator Dr Anna Fricke. Invitations to the finissage had also been carried in the Südanzeiger on 16 November 2019.

During the finissage the artist book Bankett Gruppe / Banquet Group by Phung-Tien Phan was presented. The book had become available shortly before; upon request the artist signed the copies.

Dismantling

On 4 December 2019 the temporary work Bankett Gruppe 2 / Banquet Group 2 was dismantled and removed by the artist and her assistants; also, the signs pointing to the work were removed.
